"The Moving Finger writes..."

This page began as a sketch of the town of Kotlik. Then I added the names of the people I stayed with, Mark and Delores Okitkun, and their neighbors and some of the children whose pictures I took and unfortunately lost with all my pictures of Kotlik.

The sketch shows the typical family layout. The small log cabin is the original family residence. The larger pre-fab, three room house behind it is the new residence, leaving the log cabin for storage. The outhouse is to the right. While the pre-fab has a full bathroom, it is used for storage as there is no sewer or water in Kotlik.
In the foreground is depicted drying fishing nets, a boat, and fuel drums. I don't know what is shown in the bottom right.
